How should we behave online? (Netiquette rules)

As we are all human beings, we need to communicate with each other otherwise we will degrade. In our society it is accepted to observe the rules of etiquette during conversations. Due to the development of modern technologies, people talk with each other not only face-to-face, but also via the Internet. There are also rules of etiquette in network. Let us take a look at them.

·                   It is forbidden to be offensive and insult people. I suppose everyone ran across individuals who tried to curse others and showed their anger and negativity to them. People usually think that if they do not say bad things to someone’s face it does not have to have any consequences. It is wrong not to feel responsibility for your own actions and words, even they were done or said in the Internet. Do not share your opinion in the comments if this is going to hurt one's feelings. Always be polite with everyone.

·                   We all know that sharing too personal information and explicit content leads to sad results. One should remember that such oversharing can be used against him or her. Besides, it is not pleasant to see such content for an average user of the net.

·                   If you need to talk to a particular person who is at the same online group or chat, better do it by sending a private message. None of members of a chat wants to observe just 2 people having a conversation, discussing things that relate only to them.

·                   It is a well-known fact that we have more friends in social media than in real life. Probably, we can add them as friends just because we want to be polite or have as many “friends” as possible. However, we all tend to realize sometimes that there are too many of them and decide delete them. So, it is better  to add only those people who you are going to talk to. This way, you will not hurt their feelings. What is the point of adding a person who you are not going to keep in touch with?

·                   Do not send files, content that you got from your friends or acquaintances to others without getting their permission. It is not nice.

·                   If somebody needs your advice or asks you a question try to reply to his or her message within a few days.

·                   The information and content that you upload should be accurate and true.

·                   Before asking questions in different communities or websites it is advisable to read the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) document.

·                   It is preferable to post something that is going to be useful and significant for other people.
