The topic of my future persuasive speech
Soon enough we will be giving our persuasive speeches.
That is why we need to choose the topics already right now. It is quite
difficult to do it because the wrong choice of a topic can lead to failure of
your performance. It is necessary to talk about something that is really
important. For this purpose, I have to answer several questions to determine
what I will speak about. Personally, I would like to talk about giving
unsolicited advice and opinions to people.
·
Why should I want to talk about this?
I want to talk about it because every time I get unsolicited
advice about my appearance, sometimes actions, I get so upset that some
individuals in our society do not know how to respect others’ feelings. I hate
the way they invade my privacy and teach me how to live MY life when I did not
ask for their opinions.
·
Why should anybody want to listen to me?
I suppose the
audience should listen to me because this issue is vital. Sometimes we think
that we help by giving advice to people, but we can hurt their feelings. They
can acquire even more insecurities if they are not confident and be frustrated
by their personalities. I think a lot of listeners would relate to this
problem.
·
What single message would I want to put across?
The message I want to share with others is that
everyone should try their best not to give unsolicited advice or show their attitude
towards something that is connected with others. Especially, one should avoid sharing his attitude and opinions if they are offensive, abusive. But if they do feel, that
their advice is crucial, they should think twice before saying it to another
person. Maybe it will be not pleasant to hear it? Maybe somebody did not even
need your “precious” opinion?
·
What need in the audience do I want to have satisfied
when I have finished speaking?
To my mind, I want the audience to satisfy their need
to learn more about the reasons why they should not give advice whenever they
want. I want them to understand that it is not obligatory to give comments
about something that it is not their business unless they feel that something they wanted to say was a positive thing that would not cause any bad emotions.
·
When they all walk away what state would I like them
to leave in?
I would like everyone to realize their mistakes and
learn to be respectful to each other.
I understand that someone’s opinions and pieces of
advice can really help. But one should keep in mind that if nobody asked for it
is better to not say it aloud or text it. You can never know how a person can
react to them.

persuasive speech? Do you agree or disagree with it? Let me know in the
