Evaluation OF THE INFORMATIVE SPEECH №9

  Hello! Last week we watched the zoom performance of our group mate, Marina. Now I would like to evaluate it.

1. Introduction: ( 10 points)

·        What technique(s) was used in the introduction?

    She used making a reference to the audience as an attention-getter.

·        Any link-element?

·         The link-element was that if a person can’t deliver his/her speech effectively, it may lose its interest or even importance for the audience.

·        Was the thesis statement given?

·        The main thesis statement was that vocal delivery plays a great role in speech.

·        How effective was the introduction?

·        It  was effective because Marina was persuasive.

·        How well structured was the information presented?

·        I reckon that the speech was well-structured.

·     Marina used problem-solution pattern of organization.

·        How understandable was the information (was it clearly explained)?

·        All the information was clear.

·        In my opinion, the point-support that Marina provided was appropriate, complete, various.

·        I think she used a proverb as a technique.

·        Were all the steps followed (summary, action, emotional appeal?)

·        Yes, all the steps were followed.

·        How effective was the conclusion?

The strength of the speech:  good structure, an unusual attention-getter, coherence, good examples

The weakness of the speech:  I think the speech did not have weaknesses.

All in all, I appreciated Marina’s work! She did a great job and her speech was really interesting.
