Evaluation of the infornative speech №7

Last week we watched the performance that our group mate, Katya Koltochikhina, created in the format of a video. We need to analyze her speech using the table.

1. Introduction: ( 10 points)

·        What technique(s) was used in the introduction?

·       I think that Katya used rhetorical questions as attention-getters. Also she referred to the life  experience of audience.

·        Any link-element?

·         The link-element was that giving a speech can be nerve-wracking.

·        Was the thesis statement given?

·        The main thesis statement was that a good preparation, making a perfect plan can lead to the creation of a speech that will inform, persuade, motivate, or entertain.

·        How effective was the introduction?

·        It  was effective because she caught attention of listeners..

2. Body:  (10 points)

·        How well structured was the information presented?

·        There is no doubt that the speech was well-structured. Everything was well though out.

·        What organizational structure was used in the body of the speech?

·     Katya used also problem-solution pattern of organization.

·        How understandable was the information (was it clearly explained)?

·        All the information was understandable.

·        Quality of point-support (appropriateness, completeness, variety)

·        I reckon that the point-support that Katya provided was appropriate, complete, various.

·        I think she could use more examples and illustrations.

3. Conclusion: (10 points)

·        What technique(s) was used in the conclusion?

·        I think there was no technique in the conclusion.

·        Were all the steps followed (summary, action, emotional appeal?)

·        Yes, Katya summarized everything she was talking about and followed all the steps.

·        How effective was the conclusion?

The strength of the speech:  good structure, clarity.

The weakness of the speech:  there could be more examples

To sum it up, I think Katya did a good job. It was interesting to watch her video and learn more about public speaking.
