CHALLENGE #10

Hello! It’s been a long time since I wrote the last post. Now it’s time to tell you about my last challenge from the list.

So, my task was to ring a wrong number on purpose to ask a random person about his dreams. Honestly, it was the toughest and hardest challenge from the list. Probably it was so because nobody likes getting calls from unknown people. Especially, if they act in a weird way. Talking about one’s dreams is hard because it is too personal. Somehow I managed to find several phone numbers of people I was not familiar with. I just dialed different phone numbers from another cell phone with a different SIM-card. When I realized that those numbers belonged to real people I was ready to call them from my phone. I felt nervous because I had absolutely no idea what I would say. The first three victims immediately hung up right after I started asking about their dreams. When it happened I was not motivated to make more calls, but then I thought: “How could it be so wonderful if somebody tried to keep a conversation going!” The next four individuals communicated with me a little, but certainly, they were suspicious about my intentions, got mad and stopped the dialogue. I was not anxious anymore after those little “failures”, because the worst situations I imagined in my head already happened. I decided to call a random person for the very last time. Believe it or not, the girl I phoned to was so amiable and communicative. At the beginning of our conversation, she was a little skeptical because she thought I was kind of a maniac. Then I told her about my challenge, she laughed and tried to help me. Obviously, she did not open her soul, she did not tell her secrets to me. But the girl briefly described her vision of an ideal life. Actually, it was more than enough to me and I felt excited that someone talked about her dream. To conclude, this challenge taught me to not to be afraid of refusals. I think I became more confident and improved my communicative skills.
That’s it for today’s post. Hope you’re safe and you’re having a good time!
