CHALLENGE №5
“A moment of Patience
in a moment of Anger saves a thousand moments of Regret.”― Ali Ibn Abu Talib
This task was hard for me because I don’t like to ask
for help until I realize that I can’t do something myself. Anyway, I went to ”Pyaterochka”
shop. I was afraid that I could be at a loss at the time it was necessary to interact
with salesperson. That’s why I thought of the questions that I wanted to ask
shop assistants beforehand. Firstly, I found my victim and asked him about the
location of soy sauces in the shop. It was just a simple question and I got my
reply. I did not want really to disturb a person who was busy doing his work,
but I had to get out of my comfort zone. Moreover, I knew that responsibilities
of shop assistants included answering to questions of customers. I kept asking
questions about the composition and quality of products like yoghurts and cheese
curds.
I noticed that the salesperson was getting indignant, but he was patient
and answered to my inquiries. Then I asked him why there was such a huge difference
between the costs of dishwashing liquids. Actually, I know that this was quite
silly question to be honest. The shopping assistant had nerves of steel, I
swear! Another person would get tired of an annoying customer and escape him.
But he stayed courteous to me and explained everything no matter what. I really
appreciate such attitude. To conclude, this challenge taught me to be more
confident and not to be shy to ask for help. In addition, I learned that there
are still people who stay not only tolerant and composed, but also polite in
some tough situations. So, let’s try to be polite to each other, because as
Hazrat Ali said “courtesy costs nothing, but buys everything”.
